How hikers rescued WA woman in the Enchantments

It was one woman’s fifth time on the trail since August when her blood sugar suddenly dropped. A group of hikers found her and brought her to first responders. Hiking the Enchantments, an 18-mile trail in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, is one of Washington's most daring pastimes. A group of hikers who lost their way found a woman in her mid-30s off the trail and managed to rescue her, including a certified rope rescue firefighter. The hikers gave her salt and water and sent an SOS signal using a satellite communication device. This was the fifth time the Eastern Washington woman had been hiking the trail since August when her blood sugar suddenly dropped unexpectedly. The group had planned to hike the Enchantment for about a week before setting off Sunday morning, but one member's work schedule changed the day's plan. The rescuers made a stretcher system and transported the woman to safety.
