“We’re just getting started, with more international destinations on the horizon,” airport officials said. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is adding direct flights to two popular destinations across the Pacific Ocean in 2027. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will launch nonstop flights to cities in Japan and French Polynesia in the spring of 2026. The move is part of Alaska Accelerate, a long-term plan to evolve into a more global, premium and diversified airline. Non-stop service from Seattle to Osaka will begin on May 17, 2027, and Papeete, the capitol city of French Polyasia, will begin in June 2027 with flights on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Both routes will be served by Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A330 aircraft. The airlines are offering a special discount on tickets to the new destinations through Monday, Oct. 26.
