“We’re just getting started, with more international destinations on the horizon,” airport officials said. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is adding direct flights to two popular destinations across the Pacific Ocean in 2027, Japan and French Polynesia. The announcement comes as Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines announce new nonstop flights to cities in Japan and Papeete, the capitol city of French Polyasia. The new flights are part of Alaska Accelerate, a long-term plan to evolve into a more global, premium and diversified airline. Non-stop service from Seattle to Osaka will begin on May 17, 2027 and P.apeete to Seattle will begin in 2026. The airline is offering a special discount on tickets to the two new destinations through Monday, Oct. 26.
