Neil R. Sarls graduated from New York State University Buffalo in 1972 and graduated from Toledo Law School in Ohio in 1975. In the 1970s, he worked as a legal aid on behalf of psychiatric patients at the Eastern State Hospital in Spokane, Washington, D.C.. Saals has been practicing the law in Seattle for more than 25 years. He has written and lectured in the field of the Presbyterian and Spiritual Involvement Laws. Sales is allowed to open in the state and federal courts. He is former president of the Orion Board of Industry, a non-profit company that fosters people with disabilities. Saals and three children of age call the Wedgewood/Ravena area their home.
