“We’re just getting started, with more international destinations on the horizon,” airport officials said. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is adding direct flights to Osaka, Japan and Papeete, French Polynesia in 2027. The announcement comes as part of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines' long-term plan to expand their global network into more global destinations. Non-stop service from Seattle airport will begin in the spring of 2026, with return flights from Papeet starting on June 12, 2027, with flights on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The new flights are part of the Alaska Accelerate initiative, which aims to become a more global, premium and diversified airline. The airlines are offering a special discount on tickets to the two new destinations through Monday, Oct. 26.
