A fatal motorcycle accident halted the usual hum of activity in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood yesterday afternoon. According to the Seattle Police Department, patrol officers and Seattle Fire Department (SFD) teams rushed to the 700 block of North 80th Street after a motorcyclist reportedly crashed into multiple vehicles around 3:24 p.m.

The motorcyclist was said to be driving in a pattern deemed reckless, weaving before finally coming to a stop beneath one of the vehicles involved. Medics from SFD provided emergency care, trying to desperately save the life of the adult male. Tragically, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead right there at the scene of the collision. The Seattle Police have since cordoned off the area to allow detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad to not only document but also to fully investigate the circumstances of the incident.

As investigations continue, information has been scant. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of next of kin. Furthermore, no additional injuries from drivers or passengers in the involved vehicles have been reported thus far.
