The publicly funded Seattle Social Housing Developer is buying North Delridge apartment complex Youngstown Flats.They announced it just before 8 pm tonight, less than an hour ago: Just a few moments ago, our Board voted to acquire Youngstown Flats in West Seattle. ... The Seattle Social Housing Developer (SSHD) is set to buy North Delridge apartment complex, Youngstown Flats, in West Seattle. This acquisition will bring the developer's total to approximately 350 social housing homes citywide by the time they close on the property, which is expected to happen in mid-December. The current owner of Youngstown recently allowed a state affordability program to lapse at the property. The new ownership could potentially protect about 30 residents from economic displacement by offering them a permanent affordability program under the social housing model. SSHD expects to own over 1,000 units of housing by the end of 2027.
