Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has compiled a list of the best cars for teens, from new models down to used cars under $10,000. Managing editor at Kelley Blue Book, Sean Tucker, highlighted what to avoid in a teen's first car: Subcompacts, pickups and SUVs, compact or midsize cars, and small SUV. Safety features such as antilock brakes, traction control, and stability control can make a difference for a new driver. For new cars, Tucker's favorites are Honda HR-V, Mazda 3, and the Honda Civic. For used cars, the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 were also mentioned. However, Tucker warned that adding a teenage to your insurance company can raise the bill or more.
