Terminal One breaks ground on new luxury car and yacht club

The project to turn an 8.9-acre site along Salmon Bay into a luxury car and yacht club broke ground this week. Terminal One Motor & Yacht Club, a project to convert an 8.9-acre site along Salmon Bay into a luxury car and yacht club, has broken ground. The site was previously used as a petroleum storage and distribution facility and includes 550 feet of waterfront. The project will include building 72 individually owned collector garages and construction of an owner's lounge and gathering space called The Forum. The second phase will add a marina with four private docks and about 2,300 feet of moorage. Heron Habitat Helpers (HHH) have raised concerns about Terminal One's potential impact on Seattle's largest great blue heron nesting colony, arguing that the removal of docks and pilings along the shoreline could impact the heron colony's "staging ground" where herons establish pair bonds.
