'I thought he was gonna kill me': Seattle police search for overnight shooter in CD

Jermaine Hawkins, who called 911 after hearing his sister being held against her will, said he followed the shooter's movements and thought he was going to kill him. Hawkins said his sister and baby are all fine.

Police say they're looking for a person who was shooting out of an apartment window in the Central District late Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at 22nd Avenue and Alder Street in Seattle. Police received several 911 calls around 11 p.m. from people hearing multiple gunshots.
A SWAT team and multiple officers filled the street, loading their weapons. It was not clear if the shooter was still inside the building.
KOMO News spoke to a man who said he called 911 because he was worried about his sister and her baby.
"Earlier today, I got a call that my sister is being held against her will and it was a domestic violence thing," Jermaine Hawkins said. "I care for my family very much. A lot of people care for their families. So, I said I need to come through for her, make sure she’s OK.
"We come and we saw him driving very fast down the street. I then follow him, and then once he gets kind of cornered into a spot where he can’t get out, he then hops out of the vehicle, pulls the gun on me and aims at me. I thought he was gonna kill me."
That person shot out the window of an apartment at least three times, Hawkins said.
Hawkins said his sister and baby are OK.
