Costco is recalling some packages of Tillamook Colby Jack and Monterey Jack cheese slices sold between May 9 and 31 in the Northwest region, including Washington.

“Tillamook has identified a very small quantity of gray and black plastic pieces that may be present” in the 32 oz. twin-pack package, Tillamook County Creamery Association executive vice president Mike Bever said in a letter to Costco members.

The package has an item number 651195 with “Best If Used By” date of Oct. 22, 2024.

Bever said his association is voluntarily removing the product from Costco. Anyone who has the item can return it to Costco for a refund, he said.

Anyone who ate the cheese without issue doesn’t need to do anything, Bever said.
