Denver reduced unsheltered homelessness by 63.6% from 2023 to 2026, from 1,423 individuals down to 518 Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has unveiled a new homelessness strategy, using the same providers as those in Denver and Houston as evidence of her ability to deliver results for taxpayers. The strategy involves increasing coordination with service providers the city has contracted with for years, and expanding an ongoing pilot program in Pioneer Square called Streets to Housing. Despite falling short of plans to add 500 shelter beds by the World Cup, Wilson has pushed her goal of adding 1,000 in her first year in office to 2027.
